Botulinum Toxin Treatment

Natural, Expression-Preserving Results

A woman with smooth skin touching her face, eyes closed

Botulinum toxin treatment is not simply about removing every line. A well-planned treatment aims to soften excessive muscle activity while preserving the expressions that make your face look natural.

At Dr Ahmet Demir Clinic, treatment is based on facial anatomy, muscle strength, asymmetry and the patient's individual goals rather than a standard injection map.

Which Areas Can Be Treated?

Forehead lines.

Glabellar or frown lines between the eyebrows.

Crow's feet around the eyes.

Bunny lines on the nose.

Selected nasal-tip and gummy-smile indications.

Chin dimpling caused by mentalis overactivity.

Medical Uses

Masseter treatment for selected patients with bruxism or jaw-muscle overactivity.

Hyperhidrosis treatment for excessive sweating of areas such as the underarms or palms.

Botulinum toxin may also be used in established medical protocols for chronic migraine; suitability should be assessed medically.

How Is Treatment Planned?

  1. Facial movement and expression analysis.
  2. Assessment of muscle strength, symmetry and eyebrow position.
  3. Individual dose planning.
  4. Small injections with fine needles into selected muscles.
  5. Review after the effect has fully developed when required.

How Long Does It Take?

Treatment itself commonly takes around 10–15 minutes, with additional time for consultation and preparation.

When Does It Start Working?

Visible effects often begin within several days.

The result continues to develop during the first one to two weeks, and a review around two weeks can be useful in selected patients.

How Long Does It Last?

Duration varies between patients, treatment areas and doses. For many cosmetic indications, the effect commonly lasts around 3–4 months, although shorter or longer durations are possible.

Will My Face Look Frozen?

Not necessarily. The objective is controlled relaxation of selected muscles, not elimination of all facial movement.

Conservative dosing and correct muscle selection are central to maintaining a natural expression.

Safety

Temporary injection-site redness, tenderness, bruising or headache can occur.

Unwanted weakness of adjacent muscles can occur if toxin spreads beyond the intended area. This is why anatomical assessment, dose selection and injection placement are important.

Who Should Not Have Treatment?

Botulinum toxin is generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding and may be unsuitable in certain neuromuscular conditions or with particular medications. A medical history is required before treatment.
