Migraine Botox

Tired of Being Trapped in Dark Rooms and Taking Handfuls of Painkillers?

Severe headaches lasting for days, extreme sensitivity to light and sound, nausea, throbbing behind the eyes... Migraine is not just a passing "headache"; it is a chronic condition that drains your energy, forces you to cancel your plans and brings life to a standstill.

If you are tired of constantly carrying strong painkillers and living in fear of the next attack, Migraine Botox can significantly reduce the frequency, duration and severity of your attacks.

What Is Migraine Botox and What Does It Do?

Migraine Botox is a medical and neurological treatment that has been FDA-approved (US Food and Drug Administration) since 2010 and has a proven track record in cases of chronic migraine.

With This Treatment Protocol:

  • The release of neurochemical substances that are secreted from nerve endings and carry pain signals to the brain is blocked.
  • The frequency of migraine attacks (number of attacks per month) and the severity of pain are reduced by 80–90%.
  • Dependence on painkillers and their side effects on the stomach and liver are eliminated.
  • Quality of life, restful sleep and social/professional focus are regained.

How Does Migraine Affect Your Life? Who Is This Treatment Suitable For?

In our clinical experience, patients with chronic migraine struggle not only with pain but also with the following serious limitations in daily life:

  • Inability to Make Plans and Isolation: Staying away from social events, family gatherings and business meetings for fear of "What if the pain strikes again?"; withdrawing into dark, quiet rooms.
  • Medication Dependence and Stomach Problems: Reaching for strong painkillers with every episode of pain and, over time, dealing with the kidney and stomach side effects these drugs cause.
  • The Teeth-Grinding (Bruxism) Connection: Many migraine patients clench their jaw at night without realising it. Tension in the jaw triggers the temple, neck and back-of-the-neck muscles, making migraine attacks much more severe.
  • Loss of Productivity at Work: Being unable to work or concentrate on attack days, and feeling chronically fatigued.

How Is the Treatment Performed? What Is the Process?

Migraine Botox is administered according to a highly precise, specialised medical protocol:

  1. Mapping the Pain: The centres where the pain starts and spreads (forehead, temples, back of the neck, neck and shoulders) are identified.
  2. Injection into Strategic Points: Micro-doses are administered with ultra-fine needles (as fine as an insulin needle) into 31 strategic points that trigger the pain.
  3. A Comfortable and Quick Process: Including preparation, the treatment takes 15–20 minutes. During the injection, you feel only a mild sensation lasting a second, like a "mosquito bite". You can return to your daily life immediately afterwards.

What Do We Do? Why Choose Us? (The Dr. Ahmet Demir Clinic Approach)

Migraine Botox is a medical protocol entirely different from standard cosmetic Botox. Our medical approach at the clinic:

  • Holistic Medical Assessment: Not every headache is a migraine! Headaches caused by blood pressure, diabetes, raised intracranial pressure, sinusitis or middle-ear infection require treatment of the underlying condition. We do not perform migraine Botox without an accurate diagnosis.
  • Combination with Teeth-Grinding Treatment: If your pain is triggered by teeth grinding (bruxism), we double the success of the treatment with additional touches to the masseter (jaw) muscle.
  • Safe Dose Splitting (Protocol Precision): When a high dose is needed for severe, widespread migraine, rather than giving the whole dose in one session we split it into two sessions 15 days apart. Because the scalp is rich in blood vessels, this prevents an excess dose from entering the bloodstream and causing temporary weakness or shortness of breath, maximising patient safety.

Benefits of the Treatment and Why It Must Be Performed by a Doctor

  • No Systemic Drug Side Effects: A localised, safe solution that does not burden the stomach, kidneys or liver.
  • A Double Benefit (Health + Aesthetics): While the injections in the forehead and temple area relieve your migraine, they also smooth tired-looking lines on your skin, helping you look fresher.
  • A Doctor Is Essential: The head, neck and back-of-the-neck area contains vital networks of blood vessels and nerves. To set the injection points and the personalised dose correctly, the treatment must be performed by a doctor with a thorough command of anatomy.

Frequently asked questions

Does Migraine Botox Help with Every Type of Headache?

Botox is most successful in "Chronic Migraine" (headaches on 15 or more days a month) and tension-type headaches. However, in headaches caused by sinusitis, blood pressure or intracranial pressure, the underlying medical problem must be treated first.

How Long Does It Last, and When Does It Start Working?

The effect begins to be felt from day 3 and fully settles by day 15. Results last 4 to 6 months, varying from person to person. To bring attacks fully under control, repeating the treatment every 3–4 months in the first year is recommended, after which the intervals between sessions can be extended.

Is the Procedure Very Painful?

No. Because it is performed with special ultra-fine needles, it feels no more than a momentary mosquito bite and is very comfortable.

Does Migraine Botox Have Side Effects?

When performed by an experienced doctor, it is extremely safe. In severe cases, when high doses are split into two sessions 15 days apart, the risk of systemic side effects is eliminated. Apart from temporary mild swelling, there are no side effects.

How Are Migraine Botox Prices Determined?

Migraine Botox prices are set individually, according to the number of areas the pain spreads to (only the temples, or also the neck/back of the neck) and the total number of units (dose) used. It is a medical protocol that requires more areas and a higher dose than standard cosmetic Botox.
