Temple Filler

Do you think the first places to show it when your face loses its youthfulness and freshness are the under-eyes or the cheeks?

In fact, for most people the real, silent change begins with volume loss in the temples. Hollow temples can make the face look tired, harsh, thinner and older than it really is.

Temple filler is a specialised medical aesthetic treatment that aims to restore lost volume in the upper-middle part of the face, creating a more balanced, softer and fresher expression. Done with the right technique, it never "puffs up" the face; on the contrary, it restores the face's natural contour and radiance.

What Is Temple Filler and Why Does It Matter?

Temple filler is a procedure that corrects hollowing in the temple area using hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers that are 100% compatible with our skin.

Over Time and With Age:

  • The deep fat tissue in the temple area diminishes,
  • Bone support recedes,
  • Skin elasticity decreases.

This biological process causes the temples to sink inwards. The resulting hollowness pulls the tail of the eyebrow down, makes the eye area look more tired and creates a shadowed, harsh expression in the upper face.

Benefits of Temple Filler:

  • Corrects inward hollowing and shadowing in the temple area.
  • Gives natural support to the tail of the eyebrow, opening up the eye area.
  • Creates balance in the upper face in line with the golden ratio.
  • Softens a harsh, tired facial expression.

What Causes Temple Hollowing?

  • Natural age-related tissue and bone loss,
  • Rapid or significant weight loss,
  • Genetic facial structure and anatomical predisposition,
  • A very lean/athletic facial structure,
  • Unbalanced filler treatments carried out in the past.

(In some people, the temple area may be structurally hollow even at a young age. This makes the upper part of the face look narrower and sharper than it really is.)

How Is Temple Filler Performed? (Safe Layer & Anatomy)

The temple is a delicate anatomical area that requires great care because of its network of blood vessels and nerves. For this reason, the treatment must always be performed by an expert physician with in-depth knowledge of anatomy.

  1. Detailed Facial Analysis: The degree of temple hollowing and the proportions of the upper-middle face are examined.
  2. Topical Anaesthesia: A strong anaesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area for maximum comfort.
  3. Safe Cannula Technique: In most cases, special blunt-tipped cannulas that eliminate the risk of vascular injury are preferred, and the filler is placed in the correct anatomical plane.
  4. Symmetry Check: The procedure is completed by checking the balance between both sides and the way light is reflected.

Procedure Time: The total treatment time is approximately 15–20 minutes. It is a painless procedure, and the patient can comfortably return to social life the same day.

What Kind of Change Can You Expect? (Before & After)

The change after temple filler is a "small but highly effective" touch. Your face doesn't suddenly look unfamiliar; on the contrary:

  • Your eye area and your gaze look more rested.
  • The tail of the eyebrow is gently lifted, and the droopy look is reduced.
  • Harshness in the upper face softens, and contour continuity is restored.
  • Light reflects evenly across the face without leaving shadows.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Temple Filler?

  • Those with noticeable inward hollowing in the temple area,
  • Those whose facial expression looks harsher, more tired or angrier than it really is,
  • Those experiencing slight drooping at the tail of the eyebrow,
  • Those lacking upper-face volume as part of a holistic facial rejuvenation plan.

(Depending on individual needs, it can be performed on its own or combined with Cheekbone Filler or Under-Eye Light Filler for complete mid- and upper-face rejuvenation.)

Safety, Pain and Longevity

Is Temple Filler Risky?

Because the temple area contains important blood vessels, it requires experience. When performed in the correct anatomical layer, using a blunt cannula and under physician supervision, the risk of complications is extremely low and the procedure is completely safe.

Is the Procedure Painful?

Thanks to the local anaesthetic cream applied and the anaesthetic components within the filler itself, the procedure is extremely comfortable. You may feel only a slight sensation of pressure.

How Long Does Temple Filler Last?

Depending on the quality of the hyaluronic acid filler used and your metabolic rate, results last 12–18 months on average. Over time, the filler is gradually absorbed by the body through a natural process.

Frequently asked questions

Does temple filler make the face look puffy?

No. Our aim is not to add artificial volume to the face, but to replace tissue lost with age. When done in the right dose, it definitely does not create a puffy look.

Does temple filler lift the eyebrows?

Filling the temple area supports the tissue beneath the tail of the eyebrow, giving the brow a slight, natural lift. However, it is not a surgical brow lift.

Will there be bruising or swelling after the procedure?

Because the cannula technique is used, the likelihood of bruising is very low. Slight tenderness or minor swelling may be seen for the first 1-2 days and passes quickly.

How many cc (ml) of filler are needed for the temples?

Depending on the degree of hollowing, a total of 1 ml to 2 ml (cc) of filler for both temples is usually enough to start with.
